Quinte Rotary - Celebrating 46 Years

Silver Trophy Competition

The Silver Trophy Competition is the final competitive event of the week-long music festival. Ordinarily, there are four trophies available and each is accompanied by a $500 cash award.

A maximum of three competitors in each of the four categories, selected by the adjudicators, are invited to enter the Silver Trophy Competition, which is held on the Friday evening of Festival week. Competitors must perform the piece in which they achieved the highest standing in competition and must have competed in senior classes as specified in the Syllabus and Program.

Each trophy may or may not be awarded in any given year, at the discretion of the panel of Adjudicators, and each is open to previous winners of the trophy, provided that the nominee did not win in the previous year. In 2014, there were four trophies awarded.

In addition to the four trophies, there is the Joe Demeza Prize. This was established in 1999 to honour the late Dr. Joe Demeza for his dedication and years of service to the Quinte Rotary Music Festival since its beginning in 1969. This prize is awarded to the competitor, chosen by the Adjudicators, who gives the single outstanding performance during the Friday Night Competitions. This award is in the amount of $150
