Since the festival's inception in 1968, we have had the privilege of welcoming over 20,000 talented musicians to this competition, some of whom have made music their careers. The talent in the Quinte area is exceptional and we take pride in playing an important part by offering this opportunity to the musicians.
Rotary is a worldwide organization of men and women who hold a common motto of "Service Above Self". Rotary International supports many projects that contribute in practical ways to community development and support for the poor and disadvantaged, especially for the health and educational needs of children in many of the world's poorest nations. Local Rotary Clubs also identify significant projects in their own communities that will enrich the lives of their citizens. The Quinte Rotary Music Festival is just such a project.
The Trenton, Belleville and Quinte Sunrise Rotary Clubs are proud to join together and celebrate our joint sponsorship of the Quinte Rotary Music Festival.
The Rotary Club celebrates its support and commitment to this long-standing program by presenting a special commemorative trophy to the current Music Festival Chair, Sharon McConnell.
Also on hand for this special presentation was Linton Reed, the first Chair of the Quinte Rotary Music Festival.
We truly believe that organizing the Festival is a direct means by which we can encourage the youth of our area to enjoy and pursue their passion for music.
